Dr Shannon Lee BVSc MACVSc Eq Dent is a veterinarian whose focus is equine dentistry. He has been involved in equine dental workshops for veterinarians and veterinary students, as well as seeing both general and referral dental cases. His career taken him through New Zealand, USA, Russia, and the eastern states of Australia. He was veterinarian to Monty Roberts (the man who listens to horses), and has appeared on TV alongside Dr Harry on Better Homes and Gardens.  Shannon is currently the only dedicated equine dental vet in Victoria - visit his vet practice Advanced Equine Dentistry on the web at www.advancedequinedentistry.com.au

He has been consulted by the Equine Veterinary Association and has provided articles on equine dentistry to the EVA. Dr Lee’s articles have been published in both horse industry magazines and scientific publications. Dr Lee provides dental care to some of Australia’s best known horses including Might & Power and Saintly. Dr Lee was recently invited to present at the World Equine Veterinary Association conference in Moscow, Russia.

Dr Lee is a Victorias only Member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Equine Dentistry

Shannon was fortunate enough to receive training from both Dr Oliver Liyou BVSc(Hons) MACVSc Eq Dent ( Equine Veterinary and Dental Services) and Associate Professor Gary Wilson BVSc, MVSc, MACVSc, author of equine dentistry textbooks and Cert Teaching and Consultant in Vet Dentistry at University of Queensland (Advanced Animal Dentistry).

Shannon has completed a number of postgraduate equine dental courses and continues to update with a course in 2008 in Minnesota covering Advanced Periodontics, Endodontics, Orthodontics, Restorations.

Current research interests include identification of oral bacteria associated with periodontal disease and emerging treatments for periodontal disease.
